Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/05/2012 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Intel series 520 240GB SSD. They now have multiple SSDs on the market initially with their proprietary controller, then a Marvel controller, and today Intel releases the Series 520 SSDs based on SandForce, well LSI these days.

ADATA S511 series 60GB SSD review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/25/2011 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
ADATA added no less than four new SATA 3 (SATA 3 6Gs) SSDs in their S511 series lineup, in 60GB, 120GB, 240GB and even 480MB capacities, all SATA 3 of course. The SSD drives come with that already prominent SandForce SF-2281 controller to deliver up to 550 MBps read and 500 MBps write speeds (when peaking). We take a look at the 60GB model. Read article

OCZ releases the ZS model in a three fold of models, a 550W model priced at 55 EUR, a 650 model priced at 65 EUR and a 750W model priced at 75 EUR (USD conversion is similar at the moment). The big question with it remain reasonably efficient and most of alls stable ? Today we'll grab a couple of other power supplies and see how efficient the PSU is and how well it behaves under load. Read article

Corsair Graphite Series 600T White edition review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/19/2011 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

It was time for an upgrade though, so the designing minions in the dark caves of Corsair's R&D facility started thinking, brainstorming and came up with a fresh idea .. yep the Graphite Series could use an update. So the team came up with a special edition series chassis, the White Graphite Series 600T Mid-Tower Case as reviewed today. This little white colored beast has five exposed 5.25-inch drive bays, immediately hinting this chassis to be a mid-tower chassis.

We review the Intel series 320 SSD. Armed with cheaper NAND flash memory this drive competes at the middle segment tagged with a decent price. But will it be enough to compete with the competition ?

Zalman N series 128GB SSD review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 03/31/2011 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Being fashionably late to market with this product series the SSD series will sell at 64GB - $169 and 128GB - $289. Performance wise this drive should be as fast as the Vertex 2 series for example. Yeap, we peek at the new N series SSDs from Zalman. Read article

Inno3D GeForce GTX 480 iChill Black Series review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 06/10/2010 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We test and review the Inno3D GeForce GTX 480 iChill Black Series. This GeForce GTX 480 graphics card is liquid cooled. With a liquid cooled loop you can bring down temperatures towards roughly 50 Degrees (under full load), that's roughly 40 degrees less than the reference cooler offers. Obviously you'll need a proper water-cooling setup to add this card to but yeah, today we'll review the i-ChiLL GeForce GTX 480 Black Series equipped with a liquid cooling block. In the package we'll spot a "full cover" water-block that is responsible for cooling down the GPU, Voltage Regulators, I/O chip, memory modules, and other critical components. Read article

NVIDIA and its troubled GeForce 400 series 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/21/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Today I wanted to write a little 'opinionated' editorial. Typically we do not address rumors and gossip. But an accumulation of things that have been going on over at camp NVIDIA and the Internet leading us to believe things are not as they should be. The rumors are creating a rather negative stigma for NVIDIA. Here's our take on the pending GeForce 470 and 480. Read article

Eagle Consus I-Series SATA to USB review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/04/2008 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Here in the EU, decent external storage solution here costs like 60 maybe even 80 EUR easily. Which is over a hundred USD. So when the company Eagle contacted me and asked if I wanted to look at some of their devices the first thing I did was look at their pricing ... and I was shocked (in a good manner). Read article

Geil ONE Series memory

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/12/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
It's Thursday, a package comes in. I notice it's from Geil. Once opened I immediately notice a couple of things, the first being the class A packaging .. Spartan in all it's ways but hey .. there's no way you can damage the memory as the packaging is made of pure plexi-glass. The second thing you'll notice is the pure beauty of the Geil memory modules. Funky heatspreader with brushed tin coated copper finish and hey .. you'll immediately realize that Geil is manufacturing memory for the enthusiast audience. Today's memory is no different as once you observe the sticker I went like .. how on earth am I going to test that ? Today's memory can handle a CAS latency of 1.5 ... Read article

CaseBuy A.I-01 series PC case

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/09/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The product we'll be testing today falls in that budget segment of mainstream pre-modified cases. For not a lot of money CaseBuy can offer you a product that (if it fits your style of course) really looks attractive. So all you guys and girls out there with two left hands when it comes to modifying a case yourself .. good news. No more bleeding hands and chopped of fingers from sawing and cutting into that big can .. it's all done for you. Read article
