Plextor is back, this round with a blazingly fast M9Pe 512GB Series M.2 SSDs. These new M.2 units use the Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVME) protocol combined with a fast controller and the new BiCS 64-layer Toshiba NAND flash memory. Yeah, that means storage technology at terrific speeds while offering a competitive price.

Plextor released an update of its M.2 Express based PCI Express SSD, we review the M6e Black Edition. An M.2. SSD mounted onto a PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot could be interesting for many. Alongside an aesthetic overhaul this product will be available in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB volume sizes, all powered by a Marvell controller. Plextor developed a PCI-Express based SSD that can reach performance in the 700 toi 800 MB/s range.

Today we have the Plextor M6 Pro SSD on our test-bench. Plextor recently released this new addition to their SSD lineup. The series is to compete with Samsung and Micron mostly. This SSD series is tagged PRO, and as such you may expect an extra thing or two in performance. Plextor also includes PlexTurbo, a rather fun second-generation RAM caching software. The end result is a very fast SSD that can keep up with the big players in the channel, yet still remains priced attractively.
