Phenom II X4 980 BE processor review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/02/2011 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
AMDs current Deneb core over the past year and a half has been optimized and fine-tuned in many ways. As such, and honestly completely unneeded, AMD did decide to make their fastest Phenom II X4 processor even a slight bit faster, yes today they release their Phenom II X4 980 Black Edition processor, which clocks in at chill 3.7 GHz at default. Today two new products are launched by AMD, and here at Guru3D we'll review the fastest one. Let's have a peek first as to what AMD has got prepped for you with the right pricetag. It is that Phenom II X4 975 ‘Black Edition’ we are interested in, clocked at 3.6 GHz. Read article

We test three AMD processors today, the Phenom II X6 1075T, Phenom II X4 970BE and Athlon II X4 645. They are part of the AMD Q4 processor product line update, arming their processor lineup with more value and higher performing CPUs. Read article

Phenom II X6 1055T and 1090T review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/26/2010 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We test the AMD Phenom II X6 series processors today. A 289 USD Phenom II X6 1095T Black Edition processor all of the sudden can compete with say a quad-core Core i7 950 and 965 when it comes to multi-threaded applications. But AMD releases two six-core processors, the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T clocked at a base clock of 3.2 GHz and the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T at 2.8 GHz. That second processor is in fact even more surprising as it is going to cost 199 USD. That's right, a six-core CPU clocked at 2800 MHz for less than 200 USD. Let's test them both and see what they bring to the table shall we ?

Phenom II X4 Overclocking Master class 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 03/28/2010 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The professional overclocker's scene, and it's a demographic that Guru3D will be following more closely. It's the extreme side of overclocking, yes the guys that use extravagant cooling methods to lift the core frequency to way higher levels. And today we'll be doing exactly that. We'll have our tame race driver 'OldScarface', a Dutch overclocker, tryout the latest revision of the Phenom II 965BE -- the latest stepping with a lower TDP. The objective is to pass 5 or maybe even 6 GHz on this processor. To do so, all he'll need is a couple of liters of Liquid Nitrogen, the right equipment and time... lots of time. Read article

Phenom II X4 965 BE revision C3 review 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/03/2009 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
AMD today updates their most high-end processor to a new revision, the Phenom II X4 965 BE processor with stepping C3 -- and this new model is all about energy efficiency. The revised Phenom II X4 965 BE processor has not only a much better TDP (peak Wattage at 125W coming down from 140W) but overall much better power management thanks to the fact that hardware C1E is now implemented in the CPU, allowing the processor to for faster switching of power states and makes it more efficient. Typically with such a feature enforced it lower performance a little, but... with a proper BIOS AMD claims there's no real impact on performance. Read article

Phenom II X4 965 BE processor review test

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/12/2009 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Head on over to this test where we'll start up our in-depth review of the Phenom II X4 965BE processor. The Phenom II processor architecture is really working out well for them. It's a problem free processor series, a very value aware processor, with very decent power consumption and more importantly for AMD, yields are just top notch. As such, today they release a processor with an all new high clock frequency, yes... 3400 MHz, and why would they you might wonder? Well because they can, plain and simple. Read article

AMD Phenom X4 945 and 955BE processor review|test

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/22/2009 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Today AMD is releasing two processors in the Phenom II line-up, the Phenom II 955BE and the Phenom II X4 945 processor. Both processors can be considered and positioned in AMDs high-end segment, yet will be priced friendly. Yields are good, clock frequencies go up, performance goes up. And that's nice as the Phenom II series processors offer great performance for the money you have to lay down on the table. AMD Phenom series processors are slowly ripening, and are aging like fine wine (they get even better over time). Guru3D brings you an in-depth performance review and architectural overview on both these processors. Oh yea .. and we'll overclock the living daylights out of it as well. Read article

A test on AMD Phenom II X4 810 and X3 720BE review socket AM3 processors. Socket AM3 Phenom II processors. Processors that are pretty much the same as the Socket AM2+ processors yet now with a DDR3 memory controller. DDR3 memory will allow the overall performance of the platform (your PC) to gain again a little in speed. Over the next few pages we'll tell you all about these new processors, their specifications and of course will check out performance.

AMD Phenom II X4 920 and 940 review test 3

AMD Phenom II 940 and 920 test. AMD releases the new Phenom II processors. Now manufactured at a much smaller fabrication processes, 45 nanometer, and has different amounts of cache. The result... their processors can now run at 3.0 GHz fairly easy, run cool and still have enough headroom for a nice tweak or two. Pretty significant, pretty interesting. Read article

A review on the Phenom X4 9950 BE processor. This is AMDs is the cream of the crop processor of the quad-core product line, it runs at 2600 MHz on all four cores with a multiplier of 13. But really, it doesn't mind 3000 or 3200 MHz either. And that's what we'll show you in today's article. Read article

AMD Phenom X3 8750 review

With the incremental increase in multi-core computing AMD last year surprised pretty much anybody in the world when information leaked regarding a roadmap showing CPUs with not 1,2 or 4 cores on them .. no three cores. That's right, a triple core processor based on the Phenom architecture. Let's have a look at it. Read article

AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition review

It's April 2008 and AMD released their Phenom X4 50-series processors, with an all new fixed B3 core, hopefully they can now leave the past behind them and move forward with a processor that can actually start competing with the competition. So get that in your brain real tight, the biggest deficit of that B2 revision processor, is now fixed in the B3 edition, the deletion of the TLB erratum. Read article
