Gigabyte GeForce GTX 480 SOC review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/21/2010 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We review the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 480 SOC. This card is labeled under SKU code GV-N480SO-15I and comes with Dual BIOS technology, a SOC Default BIOS and one LN2 BIOS selectable by pressing a simple LED based button. A card that seems a little out of place released right after the GTX 580 launch. But yeah, as our review will show, the card really is remarkably good, roughly as fast as the GTX 580. Read article

We review the k8100 from Gigabyte. nothing wireless, everything wired to wipe out latency, customizable and programmable macro's, good weight responsive keys and looks that somehow resemble Ferrari's and Lamborghini cars.

Gigabyte has released a handful of GeForce GTX 460 cards, based on the reference design with a slight overclock, yet also an SOC series graphics card which is a factory overclocked model with the new WindForce 2X based cooler sitting on top of that GPU. This is something special as it is the fastest factory clocked 1024MB SKU out on the market. Read article

Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 review 1

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/26/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Gigabyte submitted their Radeon HD 6870 for review, and as much as Gigabyte would have liked to customize it, AMD is not yet allowing custom model of this unit. So the product they shipped is except for the sticker, very much similar to the reference Radeon HD 6870. That doesn't mean we don't want to check it out of course ... the R6870 is an impressive piece of hardware for the money you need to put down on the table. Read article

Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H (AMD 890GX) review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/19/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Today we'll have a look at an offering from Gigabyte, namely the 890GPA-UD3H. The AMD 890GX based motherboard is positioning itself in a somewhat more niche category with great better looks, better features and better quality components. When you plant the two chips from AMD on a mainboard from Gigabyte, they'll try to do some more stuff. With a bucket load of features like integrated graphics, sub-D, DVI, HDMI and display port connectors, passive cooling, 8-channel sound, Giga Ethernet, Crossfire ready, pretty decent overclockabilty and USB 3.0. Gigabyte Radeon 5870 SOC review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/06/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Gigabyte's Radeon HD 5870 SOC is not 'just' a pre-overclocked card, they are really serious about it. At default this card comes clocked at a 950 MHz core and the memory is purring steady at 5000 MHz, so that's another 100 MHz on that core and another 200 MHz on the memory. We have seen faster clocked models from HIS, MSI, PowerColor, ASUS and now Gigabyte is releasing an overclocked Radeon HD 5870 as well. Gigabyte did it properly I can already state, they overhauled the PCB, used first rate components, changed the cooling solution and badabing badaboom... there it is. The Radeon HD 5870 SOC edition graphics card. Read article

Gigabyte GA-H57M-USB3 motherboard review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/07/2010 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
In the wake of the Intel Clarkdale series of processors (Core i3 500 & Core i5 600 series) we have seen a lot of H55 chipset based motherboards out there. H55 is a chipset for your average mainstream entry level motherboards series, there is in fact a small step up .. it's based on the H57 chipset and will bring some more features to the table. Gigabyte was one of the first out there to ship out one of their H57 based motherboards. The Gigabyte H57 series offers a little more in the form of RAID support while it also packs a little more punch which we'll look at in this review of course. A more interesting feature on this GA-H57M-USB3 motherboard is that it also contains USB 3.0 through an onboard NEC uPD720200 host controller and very excessive display connection options like DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. Gigabyte Odin PLUS 700W PSU review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/06/2009 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We'll have a look at Gigabyte's Odin series of power supplies. An updated version, the new PLUS model. Being Guru3D we did opt the higher wattage model. It's called the Odin Plus 700 Watt power supply. A fairly standard power supply, yet with some extra horsepower, should you need it. Advertised as a SLI ready and certified product that comes with a 80+ Bronze certification for it's efficiency. What's special is that Gigabyte designed their own board layout, four 12 volts rails, uses solid capacitors to market it in their ultra durable product segment and as such hope to bring you a nice and long lasting product. Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P motherboard review

Let me introduce the Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P which comes with AMD 770 chipset (770 Northbridge and AMD SB710 Southbridge) and is AM3 Ready. So get this I spotted this little cute Gigabyte motherboard still with 6x SATA, Gigabyte Ethernet, RAID, 4 DIMM slots, integrated audio, dual-BIOS and the entire Gigabyte enchilada of motherboards features for roughly 79 USD. Here in Europe you can even pick them up at just over 50 EUR. Pop on a nice value AMD Phenom II processors (as yes it's AM3 ready as well) and you might have purchased a heap of value. Read article

Gigabyte EG45M-UD2H motherboard review

Gigabyte submitted one of their Ultra Durable 3 series motherboards (yeah the ones with quality Jap caps, super duper mosfets and an OZ extra copper), well the ladies do say that girth matters .. but the model they submitted comes with a G45 Intel chipset. And that means value as you can already think and spell HTPC and integration there. Let's have a peek at what Gigabyte is offering us for just over 100 EUR, oh yeah .. and it overclocks quite well too. Read article

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 285 review | test

Here we test the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 285. A product that is clocked at reference speeds and comes with a very average bundle. The trick is however, it's really affordable and as we learned .. very overclockable. Why not make your own OC model and forget about the premium price you have to pay for the pre-overclocked products ? Read article

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5P X58 motherboard review

For those of you who missed the little bomb that Intel dropped earlier on, X58 is the enthusiast high-end chipset for motherboards. Enthusiast also means expensive and I won't lie to you, it would make more sense to just sit it out and wait for cheaper chipset to arrive. This review will cover the GA-EX58-UD5P motherboard from the funky blue colored people at Gigabyte. Read article

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 260 OC 896 MB review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/27/2008 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We land at the blue colored premises of Gigabyte, they just launched this particular product with the 216 shader processors as well, but under yet another name, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 260 OC. And it's interesting when you think about it really, these are thus the 216 Core versions of the product, offering 10 maybe 15% more performance, yet Gigabyte didn't overclock the product at all. Which is kind of weird if you tag a product as OC right ? Read article

Gigabyte Radeon HD 4850 1GB GV-R485OC-1GH review

We test the Gigabyte GV-R485OC-1GI Radeon HD 4850 equipped with 1GB of DDR3 memory. It has a custom PCB (printed circuit board), comes with no less than 1 Gigabyte of GDDR3 framebuffer (memory), the manufacturer slapped a Zalman cooler on top of it and to finish it off they even overclocked it. It's the stuff we life and breathe for here at Guru3D.com, definitely worth our time checking out I'd say. Read article

Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/19/2008 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
What's so new about X48 opposed to the previous X38 you might ask .. well the only difference between the X48 and the X38 chipsets is the official support for 400MHz FSB (1,600MHz effective) CPUs. And let me restate 'official' there as the X38 mainboards can do that FSB perfectly well if you get the latest BIOS. But hey ... this is where we land a the premises of Gigabyte, they make pretty dandy mainboards and especially their high end series always have some cool features that'll tickly your brain and make you all gigly.
