Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/18/2020 06:08 PM [ 14 comment(s) ]

In this review, we benchmark the GeForce RTX 3080 SG (=short for Serious Gaming) from none other than GALAX. Armed with a triple fan based blade wing cooling design this card is to seriously out some performance. Galax also adds a one clip booster, and an extra fan you could place at the backside for some extra chilled air.

GALAX HOF Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe review 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/27/2020 09:44 AM [ 15 comment(s) ]

Fast, faster fastest? We review the GALAX HOF 1TB PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD. It reaches the fastest transfer rates we have seen thus far at 5 GB/sec. Of course, it is an SSD you can seat into any PCIe 3.0 compatible PC, however, if you place it into a Ryzen 3000 / X570 based PC, some magic happens as you are running 4000 to 5000 MB/s numbers and higher, thanks to the new PCIe 4.0 interface and a little TLC from Phison, well Toshiba strictly speaking.

The product has a custom and relatively small PCB. GALAX was on a mission, to make the card both silent whilst offering temps in the 65 Degrees C range, and hey... mission accomplished. The card has 2 GB graphics memory, is energy efficient and comes factory overclocked for you. Let's check it out shall we?

KFA2 - Galaxy Stream HD (WHDI) review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/30/2011 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The main idea with this product is to send the monitor signal wireless over WIFI in-between the two devices with support for FullHD aka 1080P resolutions. A daunting task, so it shall be, deep down in the dark caves of Mordor the molding and shaped what has become "StreamHD". A very simple to use wireless display solution that supports HDMI 1.3, 720P and 1080P, it has latency less then 1ms, comes with audio support for 7.1 channels PCM. DTS and Dolby Digital by utilizing the 5 GHz (802.11 a/n band .The solution even is HDCP 1.0 and 2.0 (Blu-Ray) compatible. Read article

KFA2 Galaxy GTX 550 Ti LTD OC WHITE review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 03/14/2011 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
In this review we'll have a peek at the warmongers from KFA2 (Galaxy), they unleash this cute little beastly looking GTX 550 Ti LTD OC White edition graphics card. And to make it even more special, they slapped all components on a sexy white PCB again. Armed with that atypical looking cooler you'll learn that this product makes no compromises, you will not hear it, it will not run hot and it even comes factory clocked at a full GHz, quite amazing as GPUs seem to slowly pass that weird 1 GHz threshold. KFA2 (Galaxy) GeForce GTX 470 review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/11/2010 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Some AIBs out there figured that they can design a better solution then what NVIDIA is offering. As such we slowly started seeing announcements from names like Plait, Galaxy and others recently that as stated where working on custom PCBs and customized coolers to make the GeForce GTX series 400 much more attractive products. The most extreme example definitely comes from the premises of Galaxy Technology, they have released a new series graphics card under the label KFA2 (Karte For Action 2). KFA2 is Galaxy's premium line of graphics cards, keep an eye and an ear out for that as this really will be an interesting brand. We test their jet-fighter styled GeForce GTX 470, and OMG we are impressed. Read article

We test a product from the guys at Galaxy, and that means customization and extra features, all for a fair price. Custom PCB, custom cooling, custom bracket, HDMI output, black DVI+backplate heck it even packs 1024MB of memory to play around with for roughly the same money as a 512MB model. All fairly impressive really. Read article

Galaxy GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB review

Galaxy GeForce 9800GTX PLUS test - Galaxy recently released this product, custom PCB, custom cooling, custom bracket, HDMI output, black DVI and backplate. I sometimes wonder why a small company consistently can push out striking products like that and the bigger AIBs mainly focus on the reference design. Read article

GeForce 9600 GT passive review -- Noise always has been an issue with graphics cards. The past few years however manufacturers has put more emphasis on cooling solutions that though are high performance, are silent. Every now and then however there are some companies out there releasing a product completely passively cooled. Today therefore we test the first in a two-fold of passively cooled GeForce 9600 GT products. This one comes from the lads at Galaxy, and is completely heatpipe based. Read article

Galaxy Geforce 8800 GT HDMI w/ Xtreme Tuner

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/13/2008 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Our initial review of this product was taken offline as we received an early version of the product. This early version had a "beta" cooler on it that made a truck-load of noise. Galaxy claimed to have a new cooler ready and asked if if we could revise the review based on the new and final cooler. And therefore we have updated this initial article to revision 2; based on new facts with the final cooling solution implemented. And it sure is a lot better. Read article

Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt DXX PSU

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/05/2007 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
This year you'll start seeing something new on PCs .. an 8-pin power connector. Crazy you say ? Well what if I told you that an unnamed graphics card has both a 6-pin and 8-pin (convertible 6+2p (6/8p)) power connector. See the PCI-Express bus can deliver 75 Watts. A 6-pin power connector .. again 75 Watts. The new 8-pin connector ... 150 Watts. Do the math ... 300 Watts per graphics card is slowly becoming accepted in the market. And we haven't even mentioned Crossfire or SLI here. Crazy ? Yes .. but it's the reality and luckily for the high-end freaks there are power supplies that can manage that power-draw extremely well. The Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt PSU is such a device, and now is updated towards version DXX (EGX1000EWL). Read article

3D Galaxy II & Blue Eye Water cooling review 1

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/26/2006 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
As you guys know by now water-cooling is one of the most efficient ways of cooling down a CPU. And it's not just efficient, it's usually very quiet to the ears and it can look fantastic in a system. What we'll be testing today is a water-cooling kit called 3D Galaxy II (GH-WIU02) and additionally to that kit something called the Blue Eye, which is water block for graphics cards that you can buy optionally with this kit. Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt PSU

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/04/2006 03:35 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Now quite frankly I don't like where we are heading, power consumption of PC's is really getting out of hand. We need to start thinking about mother nature a little as next to our power bills .. this can't be healthy. Luckily we see a strong movement in the processor industry where we start to see performance to watt ratio's. Power consumption is getting more and more awareness. With that in mind today our first ever 1000 Watt power supply is being published. Read article

Galaxy 7300 GT 256MB DDR3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 06/19/2006 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The formula is quite simple .. take your average NVIDIA product and see how you can optimize and improve it. The it's the sum of little details that make their products more interesting over the product from the competition. Today's product falls in the low-end GeForce 7300 range .. but thanks to the just mention optimizations the product is actually in the lower segment of mid-range .. and that's not bad for a low-range costing product.
