BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 Water Cooled Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/27/2007 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
BFG figured .. well let's go out with a bang this year. And so they have now released their BFG GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB ThermoIntelligent WC (Water-Cooled) edition graphics card. Now this is a card that you need to hook into your existing water-cooling setup, so cooling performance will vary per setup obviously. But no matter how you look at it, WC is probably the best and most effective cooling method for a graphics card. Example .. our card did not get any hotter than 41 Degrees C ... Read article

OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/04/2007 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
OCZ recently released a SLI ready DDR2 800 kit of memory, not that special yet true; they released a 4 GB kit rated PC2-6400 with tense timings. And that is interesting as the larger your RAM modules tend to get storage size, the more latency they'll get, making them slower in response times. Today's tested memory has pretty okay timings at 5-4-4-15 making this the biggest really fast DDR2 memory available. Read article

Inno3D GeForce 8800 GT OC edition review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/13/2007 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Today's tested product will come from Inno3D, in the past we have tested a lot of their products. They offer good quality products. Earlier this year they introduced a very powerful concept with their custom cooled solutions under the label iChill. A big hit from the very beginning. Today's product does not come from that iChill line, yet from their OC edition graphics cards. Along those lines Inno3D seems to have caught up with the enthusiast market, the market where products are differentiated and no longer are based on run of the mill reference clocked products. Today therefore it is with no surprise to see their new OC based product. A 512MB GeForce 8800 GT default overclocked to such a high level, that even made me scratch behind my ears. Read article

OCZ Silencer 750 Quad Crossfire edition review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/09/2007 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
OCZ bought PC Power & Cooling, for the time being OCZ will sell the PC Power & Cooling as is. It's now their high-end segment of power supplies which is interesting as I always figured their now mid-range line to be pretty snazzy as well. With this small introduction on OCZ's, PC Power & Cooling product line we land at the Silencer PSU rated 750 Watts. The product as shown today is available in two SKU versions, one SLI and one Crossfire. The SLI version is colored dark black, the Crossfire version in demonic red. The difference between the two ? .. none except the color. Read article

Galaxy GeForce 7900 GS Zalman Edition review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/17/2006 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
At defaults 7900 GS card is clocked at 450 MHz... this one 550 ! The default memory on a GS is 1320 MHz, this Galaxy GeForce 7900 GS is clocked at 1500 MHz. All in all the recipe to get some serious bang for your bucks. Let's move on towards the next page where we'll discuss the standard technology features, talk about the bundle, the cooler, heat, power consumption, photo-shoot, benchmarks, overclocks and finally the verdict. Yes, you better prepare yourself for the entire Guru3D she-bang. Read article

XFX GeForce 7900 GTX XXX Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/24/2006 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The XXX edition of the GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB from XFX means you receive a card that has been pre-overclocked at default so there's no need for you to overclock manually. Two huge benefits come from this. The first being you warrantee is covered. And secondly, these cards have been pre-tested by XFX to see if they actually can take a high overclock which is always a gamble with a regular card. Read article

They armed this AGP 7800 GS with high-end GDDR3 memory, which runs at a lovely 650 MHz clock (that's effectively 1300 MHz and thus 100 Mhz higher than NVIDIA reference). Read article

XFX GeForce 6800 GS XXX Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/08/2005 09:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
A couple of weeks ago we reviewed a GeForce 6600 from that wicked company called XFX. One week later NVIDIA however decided to throw in their Christmas release and lifted up the spirit by releasing a new model graphics card, the GeForce 6800 GS. Since we like XFX so much and since this is going to be a hell-of-a popular graphics card for a lot of people in that Christmas spirit, we just had to take a peek at another GeForce 6800 GS. NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI Intel Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/27/2005 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
So it was 2004, November if I'm not mistaken, when a press-release came in. NVIDIA announced a cross license agreement with Intel that hold multiple products and more important for the future, product generations. Exciting news for sure, but I did not expect that NVIDIA would have something ready so darn quickly. Intel and more importantly Intel's processors are a huge chunk of the processor market, and NVIDIA can now have a small take of that. The first Pentium 4 chipset mainboard chipset that they've released is of course the product we'll take for a quick spin today. Read article

Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/10/2005 09:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
ATI launched new products, the really lovely Radeon x800 XL and the x850 XT PE. We finally have both reference products from ATI in our cute little lab which makes us wonder how much samples actually are available, and with that in mind how long it'll take to see them in the stores. Bare in mind, originally the plan was to get them in store before Christmas. This review will handle the Radeon x850 XT PE and next week we'll handle the x800 XL. Read article
