We review among the bigger HDDs available on the market these days, it is the Toshiba NAS N300 that as it implies is intended as 24/7 storage for your small home server or NAS. How well does it stack up against other HDDs, let's find out?

Very nice and long review.
I agree with HDD on Nas, and even on that sometime it is less expensive to get more stockage unit Nas filled with SSD than a less stockage unit Nas filled with big HDD.
Also with Lan still at 1Gb in most install a HDD is enough
On other hand i have still a Nas with 3 HDD 8To in raid with SSD cache for personal use and cloud... HDD phasing out but still not dead on big volume.

MG series aren't expensive either. Even a bit cheaper with higher endurance rates. Toshiba is kind of saving HDD market right now, as WD adds 50% extra charge for their brand. And that's comparing to Hitachi, not to Toshiba.

Like 10 TB Ultrastar He10 cost 22799 ₽ here. But exactly same drive with WD Gold sticker on it cost 32299 ₽.

Toshiba MG06ACA10TE might be isn't helium, but still 17499 ₽ to WD Red Pro with 28799 ₽ price tag.

Still no replacement for HDD technology if you want high capacity.
Where i live you can barely get 4 Tb SSD for fair prices.
A 14 Tb HDD will cost the same as a 4Tb SSD and you will have more models to choice from.
If i want to replace my 3 Tb HDD NAS i still have no other option, then to go HDD or change the NAS out for a more expensive unit with more drivebays.
Thanks for a still very relevant Harddrive review.

Looks good. I just added another 8tb seagate to my plex server (Total 30TB), but i will consider this series when i need another upgrade. (Ripping 2160p hdr in full quality, takes a lot of space) To be honest price is my only considering factor. Most things can be either ripped again or downloaded if need be. Been lucky, in the 5+ years my plex server have throtteling along, i had no drive failures. (but i ususally double the drives every other year)
