Samsung T1 Portable SSD review

We review the 7cm - 30 gram - Samsung T1 Portable SSD. It is the fastest portable storage to date on USB 3.0, combined with the DNA of an SSD it can reach 450 MB/sec on both reads and writes - making this a VERY fast storage unit. In fact this product houses the very latest 3D Vertical NAND. Our sample has been equipped with a 500 GB SSD and if you are on the move, this great looking device might just be what the doctor ordered.

Definitely not proprietary as that is the connection for all USB 3.0 HDs.
Cool drive. But that proprietary connection to the device (typical Samsung) makes it a never purchase for me.

That's exactly what it is.
It looks like a USB3 micro B to me.

Yep it's a standard USB 3.0 connector. Now if this was apple it would be some bespoke cable that would be used for only that drive
.
Still I've been toying with the idea of buying a USB3.0 caddy and putting my own SSD in there but im too lazy so this could fit the bill
