We review the AMD Radeon R9-290. We'll benchmark these cards with FCAT Frametimes, Ultra High Definition and of course we'll check out game performance with the latest games next to power consumption and heat levels as well. This is one review you don't want to miss! The new second to best flagship product has been long awaited and anticipated. The Radeon R9-290 will compete with Nvidia's GeForce GTX 780. The card as such is a beast. As such this in-depth review will cover the Volcanic Islands GPU architecture, Hawaii for the 290 series.

Incredible price/performance! Just checked ocuk and you can get a sapphire for £320! That £80-£100 cheaper than a 780!

Btw Hilbert, love the thermal imaging!

Just love how is faster then GTX 780,maybe nVidia should consider another price drop or they will stay with chips on stock, also the CFX 290 is faster then 780 SLI,GJ AMD,really GJ!Now keep working harder on u CFX drivers and u have a very competitive product!

AMD clearly supports shift towards 4k / 3 screens / Virtual reality. Because such industries need mainstream users to have sufficient power to even consider possibility to obtain such device.

We have not gained much performance in GPU department since launch of HD7970. But now it is here and cheap enough.
