Palit GeForce RTX 2060 GamingPro OC review 3

For our first AIB partner RTX 2060 review we look at the Palit GamingPro OC edition. This is a more affordable line of products, but see that OC in the naming? Yeah, this puppy is already tweaked for you in the 1800 Mhz Boost range, making this a very attractive offer in the RTX lineup.

When you guys do your idle temps, are those at 100% fan speed? Don't most modern GPUs have 0% fan speed at idle and slowly rise to their fan turn off speed, (usually around 50-60c). I know my 2070 for example will idle around 50-60c before turning its fan on but will idle at like 30c at 100% fan speed.

wow really? My 1070 idle at around 35 with the fans turned off.

Maybe it's some kind of lack of airflow in my case, had the same thing happen to my RX 470 as well. Idle was always around 50c with fans off.

The Palit fans stay in slow RPM mode, so they will keep spinning inaudibly. Next to that even with Zero-RPM mode you should not pass 40 Degrees C, if you do .. I'd advise you to improve the airflow inside your chassis.

Man, I didn't pay much attention to RTX2060 release, but this card seems unbeatable.
For $349 MSRP (might not be found at stores) and it knocking on RTX2070 doors. Is it GTX970 all over again?

It depends what you are looking for. It gets beat by the 1080 and/or Vega 64 at 2k in pretty much all the tests. If you are looking for 1080p60 then yeah but to be honest a 1060 will give you good results at this resolution. If you are looking for high fps or high resolution it's not all that great. I sure gonna pass not a big enough upgrade over my 1070 to be worth the hassle (and it's not a lot cheaper than the 430$ USD i paid for my 1070). The only RTX card "worth" the upgrade if you already own a 1070 or 1080 and are looking to play at high resolution and/or fps are the 2080s (worth being questionable here considering the asked price for the 2080).
