MSI Radeon R9-290X Lightning review 5

This review will cover the MSI Radeon R9-290X Lightning, this graphics card could be considered to be the beast that rules them all ! With a PCB redesigned from ground up and usage of only the best components (high current chokes, International Rectifier PowIRstage, DirectFET chips, tantalum capacitors) MSI designed to design something really special. The factory overclocked product screams performance all over and with that TriFrozr cooler it is dressed to impress. The 2816 Stream processor based Hawaii chip will get paired with 4 GB GDDR5 memory running along a 512-bit memory interface. The card will clock towards 1080 MHz but is clocked at reference clocks on the GDDR5 memory. Hmmm, I just catch your attention ? yeah I figured that much, let's go and check her out shall we ?

Nice MSI GPU. I have a 7970L, 7970LBE and 2x XFX 290x's. I was thinking of selling off the 290x's for the 290x Lightning but I will just keep them as I would have to put out too much extra cash to run 2x 290x Lightnings for not much of a gain in performance over my vanilla 290x's.

Anyone know the actual price this monster will carry in USD? $900.00?

I would not go thruogh the hassle at this point and hope its under 800usd.

For the rest of you guys dont kill the messinger, great review boss and glad you got the card without further delay
