MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X review

It's been brewing for a while now, a 'Ti' model of the GeForce RTX 3090. The flagship series is further improved, with faster memory, more shaders, and an increased TGP sitting in the 450-500 Watt range. MSI is offering a GeForce RTX 3090 SUPRIM X edition graphics card that has been over-engineered. Extremely fine-tuned significant power distribution and an incredibly quiet card for a device in this enthusiast class. That, and 24 GB of the fastest GDDR6X RAM money can buy. What benefits will a product with a beefed-up 10752 shader core provide?

Tell that to competitive gamers. But I agree, this is more of a 4K GPU than a 1080p@300Hz GPU.
"need" is too strong of a word.
The problem with these cards is what they represent. In the most optimistic scenario, it shows Nvidia is trying to squeeze every last bit of performance out of this generation. But the moment you let reality sink in, you realize that it's just an easy money grab for anyone vain enough to think they "need" this. Or, Nvidia trying to maximize profit from the mining market. Worst-case scenario, it shows that Nvidia is running out of ideas on how to cram in more performance. Considering the rumored TDP ratings of the 4090, this notion starts to sound more like the truth of the matter. This does not instill confidence.
These dies are massive. Yes, they most certainly are taking up production capacity away from other models. I'd be real curious to know how many 3070 Tis could be made on a single wafer compared to 3090 Tis. A 3070 Ti is an excellent GPU to have for most people.
Except we're not in 2017 anymore. Scalpers and miners keep buying everything in stock, thereby skewing what the vast majority of the market is willing to spend. The price points are stupid even at the low end. Case in point, $200 for a 6500XT is ridiculous. I'd have a hard time justifying that GPU at half the price.
This is not a 1080p card. Using it at that resolution is a crime against humanity!

For those that need the extra performance and are willing to pay the asking price this is patently not true.
I really don't get all the bitching about these high end cards by people who are never going to buy them.
You are not the intended customer, so what do you care? And these cards will be produced in such limited quantities that they don't even take that much production capacity away from the other boards, so that argument is also ridiculous. Component wise these boards will most likely take away some production volume from the RTX 3090.

Everyone needs to make their own mind up if the extra performance is worth the asking price. Consumers can always vote with their wallet. Nobody is forced to buy these cards.

That is just such a waste. 6500xt can handle that.

Wait so that performance difference over 3090 is 7-8% but with factory OC MSI applied.. Meaning FE will be even more closer to 3090.. All of this for 100w and 500 bucks more uhuh
Go home nVidia, you're drunk.
