MSI GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO review 5

In this review, we benchmark the GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X Trio from MSI; yes MSI is back with a new Gaming X Trio, with that TRIO, of course, short for a triple-fan solution with an otherwise heavily customized product. With their aim to perform at low acoustics combined with a beautiful design card, lets start this review, shall we?

Is the Gigabyte Aurus with the large overlapping triple cooler fans design not better than this normal smaller non-overlapping fan setup? That's what I currently have and find it extremely quiet.

That ampere afterburner skin looks very nice!

One thing I liked about Founders is that it vents out of back of card and case. None of these AIB cards vent out of case - they all just dump the heat out left and right side of card. In a normal closed case this will be warmer than Founders card.

LOL . Nvidia site. 3080 says OUT OF STOCK immediately!
https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/shop/geforce/?page=1&limit=9&locale=en-gb

And other sites I looked at that were supposed to be available from now... are all PREORDER again already. Prices are rip off too. Much more than Founders.

And all the sites are so overloaded, that it is near impossible to see too.

There are already reports that Ampere cards (even 3080/3070 not talking about 3090) will be difficult to find in stock for at least a couple of months - and a consequence of this is price increase by shady merchants...

So wait. If there are three eight pin connectors on the card would that theoretically mean that it could potentially draw up to 525 watts with a proper BIOS? Being that it it is 450 watts for three eight pin and 75 watts for pci-e bus? I am just trying to figure it out ahead of time and prepare myself for the 3090!!

If anyone can answer it would be a great help...

"My friends, yeah, that's not a typo ... 33 DBa for the currently fastest AIB card on the globe, WTF !"

Hahaha!

I LOVE my Gaming X Trio, definitely sticking with this line of card for my next upgrade, whatever it will be...
Yup, Gaming X trio for life! :D
