MSI GeForce GTX 770 Lightning review 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 06/10/2013 07:54 AM [ 27 comment(s) ]

In this review we benchmark the MSI GeForce GTX 770 Lightning edition. Armed with military class components, an awesome TwinFrozr cooler that is very silent and keeps this GPU chilled down at a cool 60 Degrees C temperature. Next to that is has voltage monitoring points, a reactor core, a secondary BIOS as backup and liquid cooling and well, just so much more. Have a peek at what might be one of the finest GeForce GTX 770 cards available on the market.

Yeah that almost makes the con of the 256bit memory bus a moot point.

It is on 680 even at stock 6ghz, if it was 5.0ghz let's say, the 256bit limitation could really kick in, amazing card. mine 680 can do 1230/7200, pretty impressive ,still best card i ever bought!

Must have been a typo it said 1360 this morning now it says 1306. Still impressive it could maybe do 1350 with some more voltage.

So is 1372 MHz good enough for ya ;) click

In the article, product showcase section, there are wrong clocks referenced: e.g. 1085MHz base, should be 1150MHz and boost clocks should be 1202MHz. Otherwise, good review as always.

And pricing in Finland: 450-460€ which is more expensive than EVGA GTX 770 SC/ACX but at the same level with ASUS GTX 770 DCII OC.

Hilbert, is it possible to do a review against the ASUS GTX 770 DirectCUII CO offering?
I can't make my mind up, specially in terms of cooling, quietness and maintenance/reliability.
Both claim to have ' anti dust ' tech, but MSI seems to to cure, rather to prevent.
Though I *think* it's the most effective tech.

If not a review, I'd like your view on the subject.

Thanks!

WOW! That's impressive is this without BIOS mod that's unreal. Good job boss.
