Lamptron HM101 review

Lamptron is trying to find its new niche. They’re a company known mainly for their fan controllers – something that’s seldom used anymore, because most motherboards have fan headers now, and there are hardly any cases with 5.25”drive bays. This time, we’re checking out their LCD screen for monitoring PC h/w data, the HM101. It’s this manufacturer’s subsequent attempt at market innovation, following in the footsteps of the Lamptron SM436 PCI Fan and LED controller.

Lamptron fan controllers not sure, I have tried only one which has trouble to run more than 3 BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 on one header
If fan controller then Aquacomputer Quadro, Octa or Aquaero are my choices or I use on my builds
Hope this helps
Thanks, Jura
I did not see a price, you can pick up a 10" 1920x1200 60hz ips that has a proper stand and a touch screen for around £100.... i think i`d go that route because the last Lamptron product i had a few years ago was a 6 way fan controller and it was complete garbage.

Hi, i had the Lamptron FC2 5.25" Bay 6-channel Fan Controller, 45 Watt Per Channel, even though it could accommodate for 6 fans @45watts per channel the most fans it could run at 1000rpm was 2....any more and all channels were reduced to barely running even with the molex power connected......that was last time i used a separate fan controller......6 years ago when i switched from full water cooling to aio.

Desk Clutter? I recently saw one of these 10-inch monitors installed inside a Corsair 1000D at the computer show. Chandra from the Bangalore PC shop tells me that quite a few customers have put in orders and that the monitor install at the show has raised a lot of lookers coming to the stand. To be sure it looks very cool and something you do not see everyday. The Bangalore boys also created more "screens" on AIDA64 and supply a complimentary flash drive so that buyers get an immediate choice of about 40-plus skins to choose from and not havng to tinker with hours on their own. Chandra said that anything less than a 10-inch screen is really too small when mounted into a PC and that viewing angles and any distances over 4-feet renders a 7-inch display barely readible. Defeating it's purpose. FYI: Chandra for the show reduced the 1000D case interior RGB lighting as it will fight the readability even with a 10-inch display on duty. As to the monitor mounting they found a perfect 'black-stand' at Amazon for now and until their friends from Mumbai step up with likewise but cheaper concoction.

That's what I use or used, Goverlay its great thing, cost 30$ and works beautifully
Looks and feels like my Goverlay External USB-Display... maybe a tad snappier, but i have all the info i need in almost realtime, without the need for a seperate display output and it´s highly configurable. Hooked it up to my APC UPS via SIV64X and have live Power-Draw, Weather, CPU-, RAM- and GPU-Usage, Networking Load + HDD-Temperatures, all on a 3,5" Display
