Kioxia Exceria 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD review

We test out the new mainstream NVMe M.2 SSD from Kioxia (formerly Toshiba memory). A very fast PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD might be hip and trendy, but for the vast majority of people a mainstream SSD at a good price with a proper warranty is plenty enough, so meet the Exceria NVMe 1TB SSD.

Why they changed name to Kioxia?
Was there any problem/scandal with Toshiba?

They have separate their work in 2...
For the same reason WD have kept their 2 brand (Sandisk and WD) with exactly the same product in both.
Marketing...

An 18 billion dollar deal. Toshiba's nuclear division was in very heavy weather, so much so that they needed cashflow fast. They put their absolute gem, the Memory & NAND division on sale. Bane, a consortium bought the majority of shares, and Toshiba Memory has been a separate company since 2017, The consortium involves Bain Capital, Dell, Apple and Hynix.

BTW: Kioxia is a contraction of the Japanese 'Kioku' or 'memory' and the Greek 'axia' or 'value'.

Sorry, the Corsair clone Inland Premium doubles the speeds and adds about 50% more TBW and is cheaper.
