Guru3D Rig of the Month - October 2014 5

Sometimes a RIG does not have to be the PC chassis and internals PC, it can be a table being modified, it can be a game room or man cave, and sometimes it's just a frame. This month's rig of the month is exactly that, a race frame shaped like a roll-bar construction - and then some more. And though you will probably need a room to house this puppy, it is sheer awesomeness. Check out the rig made by Robert Ehrling from Sweden. The man is 39 years young and works as work as a upper secondary school teacher.

That's the chair I want and Obutto but customized for Flight sims instead of racing games. Trouble is I aint got the room at the moment.

Nice setup I must say, inspires myself. Enjoy man! :)

I've spot one major flow in this setup, one thing that's missing badly: huge, let say 1.5KW air blower positioned top/back from the screens so that feeling while driving can be more complete, and Oculus Rift of course ;)

Joking aside it's an awesome setup, that guy just died and gone to heaven, alive! :)

This reminds me on my childhood some 25 years ago when my brother, me and our friends were playing Test Drive on Amiga 500: below TV there was one small desk fan pushing air to that guy who was playing. It was unbeatable feeling, next to my first sex experience :D After few days of playing Test Drive in front of that fan from 5 to 10 hours a day all of us were sick like monkeys, then we had to to play some other games for few days to become healthy enough and then again Test Drive + A500 + fan@max, lol

Best for me and my wallet is not to show this RotM setup to my kids or I'm fücked. I have one setup like this in plan for past 10 years but don't have not enought time to finish the project. My friend has one insane setup similar to this but with PS3 + 52" LCD screen + (fantastic!) custom fiberglass home made Formula 1 cockpit + insane home made hydraulics sistem below cockpit: you can FEEL every bump on the road (words are not enough), wheel is equipped with home-made force feedback (my Logitech MOMO is like an chinese toy compared to that)... after 15, 20 minutes of ride for the first time everyone, I mean everyone who's playing are going right to the toilet to ease hemself :D Everything is perfect, he even got a nice original F1 helmet with custom made air ventilation... except it's not in full 3D but huge 52" LCD screen 50, 60cm in front of one who's playing is enough for me and guess what: air blower is missing. I tease him everytime because of that fan but he don't want to change anything. He spent more than 2 years to make that system, only God knows how many time and money he invested in that, no way I could spent that much (time) for something like that no matter how good it feels to own something like that. Should I say he's not married, yet?
