Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming OC review

Gigabyte is back in the house with their familiar Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming OC. A graphics card aimed at the WQHD (2560x1440) monitor range, armed with a triple fan-based WindForce cooler that remains silent and keeps the product nicely chilled down. The OC edition includes a factory tweak, though factory tweaks gain little additional performance these days.

Zen2 was not that great and behind everything intel has to offer. Even 9900k was besting the 3900x in gaming let alone 10th gen. Now the zen3 thats a real proper gaming chip that finally won.
We should probably drop this i forgot this is a 6700xt thread.
CPUz scores are usless as it gets regarding gaming , look at RKL
. Zen1 vs Zen2 is big upgrade but he doesn't need it. Zen2 is proper gaming chip while Zen1 is meh imo, however games started to use more cores it stands well after years.

Zen2 wasn't much behind , it could be treated as equal. 3300X and 3600X was at least equal in MULTI threaded games vs Intel. (4/8t 6/12t).

3700X IS a good upgrade versus 2700X. It doesn't cost a fortune and he could easily sell the 2700X for some return.
The 5800X is the gaming chip that beats Intel, but also costs a kidney compared to 3700X.
I was thinking about price/performance but if money isn't a problem by all means he should get 5800X and watch performance go up to Intel level.
PS: I have a 2600 I bought in 2019 for 135€, if I saw a 3600 for 150€ I'd switch in a heart beat. But they're still expensive, so holding on that. Even my CPU has gone up in price...

Nah, just reduce some memory intensive detail down a notch. Considering that big portion of our community can't see IQ degradation from DLSS, they'll not notice visual difference between uber-ultra-high textures and ultra-high.
Only issue Zen+ has is from 1/2 AVX2 performance. When games use it, you'll notice. Outside of that, it was solid generation. And it can be operated in very energy efficient mode even at 4GHz.
No games do use avx instructions beside death stranding from what i know and i agree zen+ was solid and still is. My 2700X boosts almost to 4.4ghz on single core.

I have a 1600af in my HTPC rig. It does well. Paired with a RX 480 nitro. I leave it stock and it boost to 3.6. My 2700x at times holds back my 5700xt # 3840x1080 144hz depending on the game. I wont ever say the cpu is weak though. Just not fast fast is all.
