In this review we check out the 4GB version of the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GeForce GTX 960. The GTX 960 is the mainstream product that we figured has too little memory, will this 4GB version resolve our concerns ? We do know that this card is among the most silent we have ever tested, it also has great looks including a proper back-plate. The G1 Gaming comes factory overclocked, has a WindForce X3 based cooler and is a great overclocker as well. Let's check it out, shall we?

I am looking to upgrade my GTX 660, mainly so I can give it to my sister for use in her computer. I'm very happy with the 660, and would keep it otherwise. It plays FarCry 4 with most everything on high, which looks and plays great.
I was wondering what difference a 4 gig card would make at 1080, the resolution I game at, and I can see it makes virtually none.
So I will save for a 2 gig GTX 960 and save the extra 40 dollars for something else. Thanks again for an informative review, the first such one I have seen about the GTX 960 4 gb cards on the web.
I think it's worth paying the extra for the 4GB version. Sure, at the moment there's only a few games that benefit a 960 having 4GB (Titanfall, Wolfenstein New Order, the other one listed in this review that I can't remember, etc), but in the near future there will be more that will have an increased VRAM requirement - and besides you can always add a second 4GB 960 further down the line, and in that situation you for definate want 4GB SLI in comparison to 2GB SLI. 2GB SLI will be close on useless in the near future (and not particularly good in the present even!).

Just purchased the card off newegg (found out no returns after). Was disappointed. Temperature hitting 79 degrees. Thought buying this card would be great for taking down temps in case to be able to comfortably overclock processor. Now replacing case fans with nocturas. Will post again.

Of all the games reviewed only Mordor is known to be a vram eater, and that is during actual gameplay. Still these line of cards remain extremely disappointing for many, if amd new mid range cards don´t render the 960 obsolete I think they´re back at dirty fixing. It´s already fishy that nvidia didn´t want to crush the 285.
