Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 G1 GAMING Review 5

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 07/26/2016 08:27 AM [ 10 comment(s) ]

In this article we'll review the G1 GAMING GeForce GTX 1060 from Gigabyte. This products sits in the mainstream performance bracket, yet oozes class and cooling. with a 279 USD pricetag.  It is 20 bucks cheaper compared to the founders edition, but comes factory overclocked on that custom PCB fitted with a WindForce 2X cooler,Back-plate and even some RGB lighting options. Obviously this is a 6GB model as well.

Beautiful little card, thanks for amazing job and review Hilbert. :)

Regarding Async, im sure they will. Pascal is still fresh and future drivers will sort it. Recent weeks we already see some improvements (latency hotfix driver for example).

this is different with pascal, because it does actually have gains from async unlike maxwell.

RX480 beat the crap out of 1060 easily with Vulkan, this might change with the promised patch, if it's real, and might not indicate future games, but it is nice results of itself, we see how much pascal gains from dx12 vulkan, though i have many doubts.

Nice review!
I used like Gigabyte... but this time, this card was at the same temperature of the founders edition???
And do not understand Nvidia... founders edtion is worst then all custom design and it is more expensive???
Someone would explain it to me?

Great card. Cooler and generally faster than 480. More efficient. Tough competition. Better when prices settle down.
