Gigabyte B550i Aorus PRO AX review 5

Probably this is one of the nicest B550 Chipset based motherboards we review, the Mini-ITX based B550i Aorus PRO AX, at 17x17cm Gigabyte loaded this B550 motherboard with downright amazing features including dual M2 slots, 2.5 GigE Ethernet, AX WIFI and a great design for VRM. Well, simply put it's nearly a mega motherboard at a mini size.

The pricing on these boards are stupid. The asus itx b550 board is only $20 less than the x570 itx board with less features. It actually looks like a stripped down x570.

The plan is to upgrade my SFF gaming PC to a Ryzen CPU and B550 M-ITX mobo, so I read this review with great interest and it did satisfy in so much as I'll be putting the Aorus Pro AX on my short list. Performance across mobos from top-tier mfgs typically doesn't vary much (except maybe when aggressively overclocking) and the included benchmarks seem to bear this out, but the noise level in the benchmarks is far too high for a mobo review. A single Ryzen CPU (the 3900X is a fine choice) running on available AM4 boards with B450, B550 (if available) and X570 chipsets would be far more useful. Benchmarks for Ryzen CPUs other than the 3900x on indeterminate motherboards and chipsets, and even moreso for Intel CPUs, doesn't tell me much (or anything really) that I haven't already gleaned from myriad CPU reviews for the same procs.

Wot is the boot time??? to the point that windows starts to boot, as the rog-strix-b450-i-gaming-asus with a 3600 is about 60 seconds

Whether you like the chipset fan or not, the pricing is ridiculous.... Intel is actually starting to look cheaper....
