Fractal Design Celsius S36 review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/10/2017 03:00 PM [ 2 comment(s) ]

We test and review the Fractal Design Celsius S36, an All-in-One liquid cooling kit that is decent in performance with a 360mm rad and three Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-12 PWM fans. These liquid cooling kits are pre-fitted with a single loop and ready to install straight out of the box. Armed with pretty nice looks, sleeved tubing and an attractive price, FD offers a competitive model in the massive LCS kit arena.

How long did you test the AIO coolers? You should test them for at least 45 minutes for accurate tests. Out of temperatures and acoustics, which one performed the best? The bequiet! Silent loop 360 or the Fractal Design Celsius S36, but looking out of the two benchmarks on their seperate reviews, the benchmarks are different.

I have Celsius S24, while it was not best performer in tests, it is quiet and has Auto-Mode. That means its fans are controlled by internal sensor for liquid temperature instead of external PWM from MB based on CPU temperature. In PWM-control mode its fans can spin faster than needed, as with any other externally controlled liquid cooling solutions.

S24 has no problem to cool CPU eating 200W without being unpleasant to ears. So S36 is definitely bit better. What you should be aware is their installation technology. They have "mounting bracket" which has circular shape and you pick your angle of installation.
This allows you to have actual CPU block placed under 12 different angles instead of regular 2 or 4 (vertical/horizontal and reversed).
