Theoretically, if you're an fps monster, then, the GTX1080 might give you a tiny tiny edge.
I would love to see the same graphs in comparision to GTX1070 aswell.

I didn't care much about frametime and microstutter when I had 2x970s, even though I should have and it was likely just me not noticing.
Now with a single 970 I guess the OSD in AB shows a lower frametime value, but other than some GTAV I didn't play anything, and since the FPS is ****ty with just one 970 @1440p, I can't experience the "smoothness" anyway.
It will be a different story when I get my hands on a 1080 I hope.
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen one of those in years. lol
