Exactly, even though I wanted to buy a 1080Ti initially, I'm SO GLAD that I got this 1070 at release instead and did not wait. It might be an entire year between the 1070/1080 and 1080Ti release if this go on like this.
Ironically, AMD's delay saved me a lot of money, because at this pace, by the time nvidia release the 1080Ti, the 1180 or whatever it will be called will be literally around the corner.
The only thing left to hope, it that the most high end card of AMD whenever it comes out will be comparable to the 1080Ti (NOT 1070/1080), if that's no the case, like you said, one can be sure the 1180 will be 1000$...
This is quite sad really, by the time they release Nvidia will have 1080Ti coming right after it. And then several months later they will release 1180... at 1000$ per card. GG

Yes and no, the previews that have been shown are running on early sample engineering boards, not MI25 boards. With that in mind, the perf numbers you see remain speculation as the boost frequencies might change (positively).
OK Boss, doesn't this also mean that all Vega reveals so far have been using an enterprise-class gpu and not a consumer version as has been expected? I assume this because I get the impression that the consumer version is not finalised yet.

I suppose you are working at Nvidia? We all knew they were waiting for HBM2... there's nothing pointing to further delays. Unless you can share some insider information...
Volta isnt ready and wont be for long time and 1080ti is just crippled TXP.
