Corsair RM850x (2018) power supply review 4

We review the RM850x power supply from Corsair. This 2018 update for the RM series now is offered in a silent RMx series that comes with 80plus Gold certification, that means it's 90% efficient at 50% load. Efficiency matters. The PSU itself is fully modular, for most of you with a side panel window in their chassis a must really as you'll want modular cables.

With the 850W model we tested, up-to 340 Watt the fan doesn't even spin, and I can tell you that a modern age PC with a modern graphics card will likely not even reach that value.

I cant get HX750i to start spinning at default profile either. And so while fully passive it only goes to 45 Celsius with system fully gaming loaded (cca 300W). I LOVE IT :D

My RMx 750w says hello... This thing will probably outstay all other components in my rig besides maybe my drives.. :p

I'm glad to see Corsair extending their warranties on their more mainstream PSU's as they are usually in stock at my local Best Buy. I have an EVGA with a 10 year warranty and its a good thing too because I am actually in the middle of an RMA on it as it is suffering power fluctuations atm and I purchased it back in 2013
