Those prices are quite steep. I used to think Noctuas are expensive, even if that didn't ever stop me from buying them. But I'm not sure I'd like to pay that much for a fan. But then again, if it really is maglev, it means it should last until the plastic chemically breaks down (or mechanically if you use pneumatic tools to build your PCs)? Decades, that is.

Heck for what they do, 35 dollars for 2 pack of 120's isn't bad at all, and considering how long they should last. A lot of people don't know you can oil the bearing fans for longer life but these new ones are very cool.

Oh, right. I failed to notice that "Pack Quantity". It's indeed not bad at all taking that into account.

8db is pretty much unobtainable.

This is from Hilbert's video card reviews

Jet takeoff (200 feet) 120 dBA
Construction Site 110 dBA Intolerable
Shout (5 feet) 100 dBA
Heavy truck (50 feet) 90 dBA Very noisy
Urban street 80 dBA
Automobile interior 70 dBA Noisy
Normal conversation (3 feet) 60 dBA
Office, classroom 50 dBA Moderate
Living room 40 dBA
Bedroom at night 30 dBA Quiet
Broadcast studio 20 dBA
Rustling leaves 10 dBA Barely audible
