Introduction

Corsair Katar Elite Wireless mouse

In this article, we review the Corsair Katar Elite Wireless mouse. It’s an optical gaming mouse that was launched today, on 26.10.2022. The Katar model is a new version of the Katar Pro Wireless that was introduced on October 2020. The Katar Elite Wireless is targeted at gamers, but it should also work more than fine as a regular mouse. This time, the optical sensor is not the 10K DPI PMW3325 but a 26K DPI Corsair Marksman. It has 1 DPI resolutions steps, 650 IPS tracking, and up to 50G acceleration.

You should achieve up to 110 hours of (built-in lithium-polymer) battery life (using Bluetooth, when it’s Slipstream Wireless – it would be 60 hours). Both times are without backlighting, but it still sounds great.
As for the connectivity, you can choose between the following:

  • Sub-1ms SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS technology,
  • low-latency Bluetooth® wireless technology (7.5 ms using the BT LE 4.2 specification)

The Hyper-Polling is 2,000 Hz (two times more than standard gaming mice). A slider underneath the mouse lets you switch between the modes. The onboard profile storage makes moving the mouse between your gaming rig and a secondary PC easier. There is a possibility to change DPI on-the-fly. Regarding the RGB, one dedicated lighting zone on the mouse can be adjusted in Corsair’s iCUE software. The KATAR ELITE WIRELESS has six buttons that can be remapped or set to custom macros. The Left and right buttons (with a zero-gap design) have Omron mechanical switches, which are 60M click-rated. The (large) mouse feet are made of 100% PTFE. The cable is 1.8 m.

The symmetrical shape is optimal for both the claw and fingertip grip styles. The weight for a wireless device is very low, as it is 69 g/0.152lbs. The dimensions are 115.8mm(L) x 64.2mm(W) x 37.8mm(H) / 4.56in(L) x 2.53in(W) x 1.49in(H). The Corsair Katar Elite Wireless is available at $79.99/€79.99. The warranty is two years, so that’s pretty standard. Is this product worth its price, given the provided features and functionality? Let’s find out.
