Corsair Gaming VOID RGB Dolby headset review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/17/2015 08:28 AM [ 11 comment(s) ]

We review the new Corsair Gaming VOID RGB wireless headset. The Dolby certified VOID is the successor model to the Vengeance series and works through a USB transmitter on the 2.4 GHz Wireless band. One charge will get you hours of wireless headset gaming over two quality 50mm drivers.

The Void (USB version) headset arrived today. It works much like Hilbert wrote. So far I'm happy with it. :)

Great review, Hilbert.

BTW: The USB version looks better too. All black, with some tiny grey accents.

LOL @ RGB headset, gonna need a mirror to be able to see them :)

Does anyone ever use EQ settings either in software or on hardware? I am always of the opinion that any audio signal (digital or analog) should be left unaltered, without any kind of processing to 'improve' it.
Well... That's a myth. When you get older there is loss of hearing high frequencies. Only when you are young you will be able to hear the full audio spectrum. And even then hearing is not perfect for some. Having an equalizer definitely helps those people.

Also, the frequency range of some music recorded for vinyl is adjusted in such a way that it will not throw out the needle at low frequencies. In that case it is not really flat. In my opinion it is OK to use an equalizer to correct it.

No more Corsair headphones for me. They work ok, when they work... I had to RMA mines (H2100) twice, being replaced twice because of battery lights bug (they brick and you have to discharge them completely waiting 1-2 days being unable to use them). Now, after the warranty is off, they broke again...

Corsair PSU=OK. Corsair liquid cooling AIO=OK. Corsair Headsets=Never again.
