We review the Core i7 5960X (Haswell-E) 8 core processor and 6-core 5930K and 5820K processors, we smack it on one of the long awaited X99 motherboards. Intel's most high-end processor SKUs just got updated with three new models, the top dog being the enthusiast class eight-core processor series aimed at enthusiasts and pro-consumers. The Intel Core i7-5960X and other Haswell-E chips are released into the market in September 2014 and are based on the new socket LGA2011-V3 infrastructure and DDR4 quad channel memory.

Great review.

On the last page where it says:
"Realistically at 1.30 Volts you should be able to get the Core i7 4960X at roughly 4400 MHz on all cores. We need 1.40 Volts for that."

I think you meant to say 5960X instead of 4960X.

Hilbert can you test the 5920/30k on OC? Not a single review out there that does it..

.. so lame.

Thanks for the review Hilbert! Been waiting for this one, let me tell you.

Im surprised to see the pricing vs performance of the 5930k as I really thought that it would be the one to get, but seems like its not so.

Also, nice to see the performance increase with the OC..

I can now say though that I will skip this and wait until Skylake.. although this new chipset and cpu lineup would crush my 2600k, the gains are not enough to justify dropping 1k plus on a new chip and mobo.

And so, I will wait :)

it was a joke, chill out. It was probably the first time I have ever said it.
