Core i5 12400 processor review

With six performance cores and hyper-threading, the Core i5 12400 might be the most desired budget-friendly and properly performing Alder Lake series processor as a gaming platform. It offers heaps of tier1 performance, can be tied towards DDR5 memory and a cheaper B660 chipset.

AMD is corporation that has one pure goal , make money , like everyone else . Open your eyes please . They have their position , they will use it . Never ever believe any corporation .
They been underdog - they played underdog game. They are in front row now , they play different game.
Just look at 6500XT , i mean :
1. How to provide GPU to desperate gamers in miner toxic market ?
2. How to look good at the same time ? ( So gamers dont feel ripped off).
3. How to make huge profit at the same time - from low end gpu ( margins from low end are usally low).
Result ? :
64 bit , 4GB , Cheap to produce , small die - not suitable for miners.
200$ MSRP.
They make all the points ,and take all the money they want . easy money really.

people forgot the fx-53 was the equivalent to intel extreme editions few years earlier selling for 899 and 999 when amd was top dog again when they are on top they will make you pay for it both companies what we want is both companies to be releasing good products so even if one is a bit ahead we have a good viable cheaper alternative .

Sweet CPU. Intel did a very nice job with this one. Still it's a 6c/12t, if I was on the hunt for new "gaming CPU" nothing less than 8c/16t would be at my aim. Now if only Intel could give us "gimped" 12700F/12700KF 8c/16t without E-cores, most of us here really don't care a bit about those E-cores.
Also cheaper 1700 DDR5 boards are desperately needed.
AMD, it's your turn... I have a feeling AMD is looking all this from the side smiling, new Ryzen CPUs with 3D V-Cache looks very promising.
edit
For the first time in my life wish Intel and AMD are neck to neck, I mean Adler Lake and upcoming Ryzen 3D V-Cache CPU's. That way AMD, maybe, wont charge extra-extra for few % advantege. AMD really needs to drop down prices at least for 5600X and 5800X right now, but probably they won't (much) until 1700 boards and DDR5 become reasonably priced/available.

Very nice CPU but it has two big problems, the overall platform is too expensive and there´s no overclock. If we could overclock it i think i would consider it.
As for AMD´s prices, they are really too high now that Intel as something as good or even better but there´s the possibily that AMD can´t lower the prices because of TSMC´s lack of production capacity to meet demand from all their clients.

no surprises here it pretty much does what we expected as soon as we saw the bigger brothers reviews :p . Now now ryzen 5600x if you are buying now makes no sense over a 12400 ...the 5600x in my country makes no sense even compared to the 5800x ....the 5600 costs 280 euros here and the 5800x 330 euros ....so automatically the 5600x as is right now is VERY overpriced . As for the gaming resaults nobody with a 3090 pairing this beasts with a 12400 if you can afford a 3090 you slap in there at least a 12700 or 12900 or 5900x or 5950x .... a 12400 etc seems ideal pair with a 3060 /3060ti 6600 6700 ... well assuming the world is filled with unicorns and you can have the cards close to msrp :p.
What i am saying is as far you do not go for a top of the top card gaming performance does not matter -+ 0-5 fps ...who cares ?
Obviously people that do it as a sport and they want every last fps they can get they do , but again they will not look on a 12400 :p
I'm biggest AMD fanboy of all time, but the things AMD is doing now are unbelievable. This 12400 is same, maybe a little better than 5600x, but at the half price ( i'm aware that You need better cooler, and more expensive mbo, but still...)??? What people that lead AMD were thinking??? After 13 Years, they have made CPU that can wipe floor with anything intel has to offer, and now they have started to act like intel all this years??? Same performance - bigger price??? I have bought more than 2000 CPU in my life, and every one was AMD (i have my own computer service for more than 15 Years)!!!! Now i have to think again! I have bought only AMD CPUs because intel was acting like they are kings of the world, and pricing their CPUs like they were made from GOLD! Now AMD is doing the same thing???? If AMD won't decrease prices of their CPU, and i mean ASAP, they will loose their biggest fan! I made an oath (to myself) that Intel CPU will never cross my doorstep, but now i'm doubting that i will respect my own promise
Sorry for my english....
never ever ever ever care about the brand of a cpu and gpu ...see the features see the price / performance and decide what is the best purchase for you ! No corporation is your friend !
