be quiet! Pure Base 500 review 4

We review the be quiet! Pure Base 500. It has been a while since we have tested a new be quiet product as they often refresh the existing range. The Pure Base 500 is exciting though, sleek look and available in white, black and gunmetal colors it catches the eye and surely can make up for an impressive yet silent build.

I like the size and look. Not enough outlets for proper airflow it seems. Thanks for the review!

if it had side air vents, it could become the perfect mid range case !

I have the pure base 600 and I can say that the airflow is not enough. I have to make holes in the sides of the front so that the air enters better.
They should leave more room for the air to enter or put a 14cm fan at the bottom.

Nice looking case, but yeah, the air flow needs improvement.

Iv got the Pure Base 600 Orange, fricking best case iv had in a long time

Iv no issues with airflow at all, even use the bequiet dark rock pro 4 with 2 fans for my 8700k cpu, i added an extra bequiet fan to the top of the case too, overall the case keeps everything really cool and everything is quiet when gaming

I have two front fans (14cm ) and one back.
With the front panel removed, the temperature drops from 6 / 8 degrees.

I note that bit-tech did a review where they actually checked the temps: https://www.bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/cases/be-quiet-pure-base-500-review/3/

It doesn't look good, certainly I couldn't recommend this case.

That's actually applicable to most cases.

They wrote an update since the temps were oddly bad:
Be Quiet! has been in touch to say that it is now going to perform additional tests of its own in order to try and replicate similar results and identify where the issue might be either in general, with our sample specifically, or with our test kit/methodology. We stand by our testing and analysis at this stage, but we'll be working with them in this process and will update the article if necessary.
