Battlefield 3 VGA and CPU performance benchmark test

One of the biggest game releases of this year has to be Battlefield 3, a combat immersive game that is about to blow you from your socks.

After waiting way too long before the game to be unlocked (why Europe later then USA?), we wanted bring you guys one of our traditional graphics and processor performance articles. As such we'll take a card or ten today and have a look at DX11 performance with the newest graphics cards.

We'll also show you the performance differential with a couple of different processors, now we intended to actually test a LOT of processor platforms, but the Origin launcher each time fought us detecting different systems and blocked us from access. So where we wanted to go really wide, Origin made it prety hard for us.

With Origin (a Steam like distribution platform) you are now forced to connect to the launcher with the help of a web browser, it is somewhat inconvenient, sometimes laggy, can make browsers crash as we experienced and sure, sometimes even is irritating.

We understand that Steam is monopolized and distributors want and need something else. But perhaps EA should have taken a better good look at Steam in our opinion, its the example that sets and raises the bar and that's what gamers can life with as a proper online content distribution platform.

Admittedly, Steam does have a 7 or 8 year head start. But software houses please do understand, annoying your end-users really isn't good for anyone. And Origin right now seem to be somewhat of a nag. Well, hopefully that will improve in the near future.

That said, there's very little we can complain when it comes to the actual game itself of course, if you like the genre then you are going to love the DX11 version of the game. The graphics are good and once you've gone PC, you'll laugh at your console (well at least we hope).

But yeah, if you are into military shooters have a peek at the graphics performance first if you like eye-candy of course.
