ASUS P8P67 Deluxe Sandy bridge motherboard sneak peek

ASUS P8P67 DeluxeHi-ho Silver, onwards to the next one! Hey guys, early January 2011 Intel is to launch Sandy Bridge based processors. New Intel processors always come with a new motherboard chipset to support them. The P series motherboard chipsets (codename Cougar point) are performance series without any integrated graphics connectivity, the H series of course vice versa.

In today's article we'll show you a very lovely offering from ASUS as we'll preview their upcoming P8P67 Deluxe Sandy bridge ready motherboard. Now since the processors and chipset itself are still under NDA we can not disclose nor discuss them.

We however can show you the motherboard and what ASUS is trying to do here. You'll notice a very impressive motherboard loaded with features and options like Asus' own Dual Intelligent Processors II that get you both EPU functionality (designed to cut the board's power consumption) and TPU technology designed for simple, trouble free overclocking.

This motherboard is using a 16+2 phases (digital) design cooled by Guru3D blue'ish heatsinks. Of course features like SATA 6G and USB 3 are available as well, and guess what, the board supports SLI and Crossfire, albeit in a x8:x8 configuration. There even is a 3rd mechanical x16 slot though that one is limited at x4 PCE lanes (still handy for a PhysX card).

What's going to be big for this motherboard is that it does not have a BIOS anymore, at least not in the traditional way that we know it. This will be one of the first motherboards with the all new EFI BIOS, which is uber-cool really as it will be a completely graphical interface with information, monitors and tweak ability.
