GPUs used to be able to play games and videos and that's it, now they can make you a pretty penny on top thus the price hike.
Until gpus cease to stop being little money trees we won't see any cheap gpus.

6600XT will destroy 5700XT.

6600XT will support DX12 Ultimate. 5700XT can't. Fail.

Didn't age well, no fine wine ™ for RDNA1. RDNA2 and RDNA3 make the future.

I got my R9 290 for $275. That was an upper-mid-range GPU when it was new, and it still keeps up with games at 1080p (maybe not with AA or maxed-out textures but it does keep up). Funny how this entry-level GPU is $100 more expensive and yields roughly the same performance. But...at least it uses half the wattage, so that's a plus.

512 bit memory interface baby!
netting me _undisclosed_ amount of BTC didn't hurt either

funny how NV/AMD switch priorities between compute and rendering.
Nvidia practically invented compute with Tesla/Fermi. Then with GCN AMD went full compute, and Nvidia backtracked with Kepler, and now with RDNA1/2 AMD is ceding.
And it looks like it will stay this way with RDNA3, because of AMD having CDNA for dedicated compute.

6600xt should be the same performance as 5700xt not destroying it. Dont get caught up on amd marketing showing it beats 3060 easily.

Fine wine still apply to rdna1 just look at the recent drivers increase. 2070super is left behind.

Let try RT on 5700XT then, oh wait it can't LMAO.
Meanwhile 2070S can play nicely on every game that support RTX/DLSS, and that list of games just grow bigger and bigger.
I guess lots of 5700XT owners already upgraded to RX6000 by now, since they care about pretty graphics after all.
