I'm quite sure game engines will evolve to take advantage of the increased (doubled) computing which is now present in both vendor offers.
Both Ampere and Lovelace and now RDNA3 have similar doubled floating point cores.
I have a feeling the gap between RTX 4000s and RX 7000s will be a lot smaller in newer games than in older ones which are not optimized new compute strengths of these very recent GPU architectures.
