AMD has introduced FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 as a response to NVIDIA's DLSS technology. Will the refurbished FSR 2.0 offer sufficient image quality? Let's test the waters so you know what to anticipate.

Again: Why is any of this a discussion when FSR2 is literally erasing graphics?

*To restate: Why dont you wait and see if FSR2 doesn't suck yet? Because it does (from this display), as it is REMOVING GRAPHICS from your games. Assets are going unseen!

Arkane Studios spaghetti code god once again granted me normal performance, so here is a short benchmark with FSR 2.0 vs. DLSS Q in 1440p on 3060 (5s 3x runs with dry run):
DLSS 2.4.3:

FSR 2.0:

1% low are 4.5% higher with DLSS. I guess no one needs to bust their heads over this.

Except performance mode is what people need to look at... The point of this is to achieve 60fps, 4k, ray tracing. There is a far bigger difference.

Riddle solved: It's CapFrameX that ruins loading times and frame time variance. And to make things even weirder, the broken state "sticks" when the game and RTSS/AB were restarted. A complete Windows reboot is required to make the game run correctly again. Seems to be 100% reproducible. Even more benchmarks on the internet botched? :D

Which is why I've repeated the test with AB/RTSS benchmark feature. Best out of fife runs:
DLSS: avg 79.6fps, 1% low 73.5fps
FSR 2.0: avg 75.7fps, 1% low 69.7fps

1% low fps are 5.5% faster with DLSS. This is btw. with Reflex enabled, FSR 2.0 sharpen disabled and ReShade CAS active for both. Same test scene as above with plain moving forward 5s.
