AMD A8-7650K APU and A68H chipset review 4

We review the all new A8-7650K APU from AMD in combo with a new A68H motherboard from ASUS. The kit is intended for system-integrators who want to offer a nice balance in-between performance and energy consumption. The 7600 series APU is based on AMD's Kaveri architecture bringing the CPU and the GPU even closer together. Kaveri aims at several segments in the processor business like notebooks, desktops, embedded and even server solutions. Armed with a good 2.41 Billion transistors and based on a 28nm fabrication process, let's have a look at what it can do.

Hilbert, H.264 / VC-1 / WMV3 hardware acceleration is supported up to 1080p on Spectre iGPU (Kaveri, UVD 4.2). 4K support was first implemented in Tonga (UVD 5).

Thank you for the great review, Hilbert!
I love APUs - for everyday jobs and gaming(not on max settings) they are a great option on a tight budget and with every iteration are getting better and better :)

For average home or office use and even gaming (below 1080p) an APU is a great deal for the vast majority of people. I have family members on both sides that game a little here and there and with 19-20" monitors, these are perfect for them. Sure I demand the best settings in my games, but they could care less. :nerd:
