Combined with power, frequency, load and thermal limiters Zotac will try to force as much performance out of the card at a maximum threshold of almost 60 Degrees C for this 970 model card, which is great considering the performance bracket this puppy sits in. That cooler looks to be serious, and it is as it gets the job done properly.

At the top of the card you can see the  power headers. The reference designs all have two 6-pin headers, this card as well has two 6-pin connectors. If will be plenty for a decent tweaking experience, albeit this card is factory tweaked pretty darn high straight outta da box already.

There are four phases responsible for supplying the GPU its power, in total it is a 4+1+2 setup.
As you can see, the card has SLI connectors so if you've got cash to spend, 2, or even 3-way SLI is an option to pursue, though we always recommend two cards maximum for the best scaling and as few driver issues as possible.

The design looks great with that mystifying, dark themed aesthetics. This 970 board is reaching 1.40 GHz on the Turbo clock frequency at defaults! Very nice but we'll talk more about that later on in this article.
