So the first thing you need to know is that both the CNPS10X Extreme and CNPS10X Quiet are compatible with any recent processor socket. You will be able to install the cooler on Intel socket 1156, 1366, 775 and AMD AM3, AM2(+), 940,939 and 754. That's right, any processor from the last year or three is supported.

CNPS10X Quiet
The CNPS10X Quiet is a CPU Cooler with Low Noise yet High Capacity 120mm Fan for low noise maximized cooling performance. The heatsink is optimized for high performance during quiet operation, incorporating a switching, noise eliminating high capacity 120mm fan for intensified cooling performance and minimized noise. Aluminum fins disperse heat away from the CPU via 5 heatpipes, while the high capacity 120mm fan quickly cools the heatsink for stable operation of high performance CPUs. The product comes with FAN MATE 2 , an adjustable fan speed controller. Also included with the cooler is Zalman's thermal grease (TIM) ZM-STG2.

Components bundled:

  • CNPS10X Extreme & PWM Mate
  • Thermal Grease (ZM-STG2)
  • FAN MATE 2
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • FAN MATE 2 Cable
  • Washers
  • User’s Manual
  • Backplates / clips / screws etc

You'll spot this product for roughly 50 EUR in e-tail.

CNPS10X Extreme
The CNPS10X Extreme is a Low-noise 120mm Blue LED CPU cooler that has more powerful cooling performance. Aluminum fins again disperse heat away from the CPU via 5 heatpipes, while the high capacity 120mm fan quickly cools the heatsink for stable operation of high performance CPUs. The cooler includes PWM Mate, an RPM controllable PWM fan speed controller, with the options of 3-Speed Auto or Manual Control Modes. Along with the package you'll find a 120mm fan incorporated for ultra quiet operation and Blue LEDs for nice aesthetics

Zalman CNPS X10 CPU coolersTalking about aesthetics -- The entire heatsink of CNPS10X Extreme is “Black-Pearl” Nickel Plated for long-term corrosion resistance, while the deep “Black-Pearl” tone along with the high intensity Blue LEDs reinforce the overall looks. Also included is ZM-STG2 thermal grease.

Components bundled:

  • CNPS10X Extreme & PWM Mate
  • Thermal Grease (ZM-STG2)
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Extension Cable
  • Washers
  • User’s Manual
  • Backplates / clips / screws etc

You'll spot this product for roughly 60 EUR in e-tail. Let's head on over the the next page where we'll enter the product photo gallery.

Zalman CNPS 12X review
The one that everybody remembers and still is going strong where the initial CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System) CPU cooler, the copper somewhat rounded "butterfly" based coolers. That model has been the biggest success of all their coolers. Anno 2011 Zalman is still going strong on the concept and just when you think they can't change anything on that design they proof that a top notch new cooler based off that old design can still work out well and look gorgeous. The Zalman CNPS 12X comes with Zalman’s heat transfer solution by utilizing ‘composite heatpipe’ technology allowing a Q-Max of roughly 300W, along with a bigger design Zalman claims this cooler to be offering quiet operation and broad compatibility for Intel 2011/1156/1155/1366/775 & AMD AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2.

Zalman CNPS 10X Quiet and Extreme review
Zalman recently released a new series of CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System ) heatpipe based coolers. The new 10X coolers include five nice big heatpipes being cooled by a grotesque120mm fan. The PWM Fan comes with RPM Control which allows you to fine tune the cooler to your specific cooling requirements. And all that in a nice design and not too huge (in dimension) sized cooler. We will put two out of the three to the test namely the CNPS10X Extreme and CNPS10X Quiet. Both coolers impressed us a lot.
