Packaging first. Quite big. All the important features are described accurately on the box, well .. you can't miss it in the stores.
Details: once we open up the box we see that the PSU is carefully packaged. A cloth is covering the PSU preventing it from scratches and the cables are insert into their own box/carton.
The fixed cables at the back-end have a length of ~23 inches, making the Tuniq a fine option for those who wish to place the PSU in the bottom of the case or require longer than average power supply cables. All the way on top we see a 135mm fan, utilizing Smart Fan technology. Box contents furthermore are:
- Power supply unit
- Power Cord
- Instruction Manual
- 5.25" to SATA adapter cable
- 2x PCI-E 8-pin extension cable
- 10x cable ties
- 5.25" extension cable
We spot the PSU and wall cable of course as well as five adapter cables. These adapter cables include two 8-pin to 6-pin PCI-E adapters, two Molex 'Y' extensions with three connectors each and one Molex to SATA adapter. We also see a manual, mounting screws and ten 150mm hook and loop cable ties for keeping the extra line out of the way. The last is a good extra considering the Tuniq Ensemble is not a modular unit.
The first thing you'll notice is that the PSU is larger than the ATX standard, 22 cm.
