Specifications and features

The sample that has arrived for testing is a 1 TB version of the drive. The series, as stated, will be fitted with TLC (Triple-level cell) NAND flash memory. This allows Team Group to offer a bigger storage capacity at a lower price point. The NAND ICs are driven by an SMI 2258.

Product Features (1 TB version):

• 4K Aligned Random Read: up to 90K IOPs
• 4K Aligned Random Write: up to 80K IOPs
• Sequential Read (ATTO): up to 560MB/s
• Sequential Write (ATTO): up to 5100MB/S
• Terabytes Written (TBW): 240TB
• Interface: SATA III 6Gb/s
• Form Factor: 2.5"
• Operating Voltage: 5v
• Operating Temperature: 0 ~ 70°C

The main specific feature is an oversized addressable RGB LED module on top that features built-in rainbow color water flowing lighting effects, and can be controlled using software from leading motherboard manufacturers. The product has a 9-pin USB header for the built-in lighting effects, as well as a 4-pin 5V header for control via appropriate apps.

The T-Force Delta Max RGB is 2.5 mm thicker than most 2.5-inch SSDs available on the market today (which are 7 mm thick). Considering the fact that the drive is aimed at desktop enthusiasts, it is unlikely that it will be bought to use inside mobile PCs. The performance figures look average, but we'll see how it behaves in practice. The warranty is for 3 years (so nothing extraordinary here).
