The C7Z170-SQ follows a standard ATX form factor at 12" x 9.6", (30.5 cm x 24.4 cm). The motherboard is located in the mainstream gaming product range within this new Skylake processor series. 

Included with the motherboard are the regulars including; manuals, driver CDs, SATA cables and a rear IO plate. This motherboard unfortunately lacks any form of WIFI connectivity.

Included in the bundle is the motherboard and gear like SATA cables and so on. Interestingly, SMC delivers super-duper long SATA cables, over 50 cm. Very handy I have to admit. Other than that the bundle is a rather sober one.
 

The I/O back panel reveals 3.1/3.0/2.0 ports and then a Type-C 3.1 connector. A Realtek ALC1150 high definition audio codec is the main source for audio. You will spot one 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet jack (Intel). Present is the much preferred single PS/2 combo port for either a keyboard or a mouse, optical SPDIF out port and six audio jacks. If you plan to use the integrated IGP of the processor, you can make use of a DVI, DP or HDMI connector. 

The boards has 3 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots which can be arranged in the following slot configurations with graphics cards. The third x16-length slot has only four lanes. But the third slot borrows four lanes from the second. That means your options across the red slots are x16-x0-x0, x8-x8-x0, or x8-x4-x4. Weirdly enough no SLI connector is included in the bundle.
 

The motherboard comes with an 8-pin power connector, that is plenty for feeding even a spicy overclock. Oh SuperMicro, blue colored jumpers... why?

You'll get four DIMM slots at your disposal that can be used for up-to 64GB (16GB per DIMM max) of dual-channel memory.
