The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro has no RGB; it’s mainly black and weighs 295 g (so it’s a light headset). The build quality is excellent. It’s comfortable on one side but very robust on the other. The feel of the headset is very pleasing; the Arctis Nova Pro design is elegant, and it feels well-made and doesn’t feel rough to the touch.
The earcups on the Arctis Nova Pro are significant and padded with a piece of leatherette fabric. The headband (which is covered with gray metal-aluminum) is quite flexible, and it’s pleasant to the touch. Like previous Arctis, we’re still able to rotate the ear cups.
The feel of the headset is very pleasing; the Arctis Nova Pro design is elegant, and it feels well-made and doesn’t feel rough to the touch. There is no SteelSeries logo/name on top of the headband. The headband is also reinforced with metal, which means it’s super durable – and while there’s no RGB on offer, it isn’t too much of a loss. The suspended headband will automatically stretch and adjust as needed. A padded elastic band underneath can be adjusted to 3 different levels.
Overall, the cups are very comfortable to wear, even for a guy with a relatively big head like me. Head sizes differ, but most users will probably find that they fit. The circular brushed aluminum plates bearing the logo sitting in a large oval shape. The adjustable (leatherette) memory foam ear pads and headband work well. The SteelSeries logos are placed on each headset. It’s possible to detach it (they’re magnetic) and buy a Nova Booster Pack for 50 USD/35 EUR in red/lilac/mint/rose quartz and Pride (rainbow) variants.
You can see the audio control wheel and a button on the left ear cup for muting the microphone (and when you do it – there is no LED “warning” about that fact, but the button is protruded). There’s also an analog 3.5 mm 5-pole audio input, which you connect to the GameDAC Gen 2 sound card (provided in the bundle). The cable is 1.2 m, so not too long.
The microphone is retractable, and it’s possible to hide it in the left ear cup. The rubberized arm is flexible. It’s possible to cover the microphone capsule with a pop filter, but you won’t be able to hide the mic.
Asus ROG has a broad range of PC components and peripherals. That included the headsets; at the moment, there are 29 models available (so there’s plenty to choose from) on the manufacturer’s website. Also, we had an opportunity to check some of the models in the past, like the Asus Strix Fusion Wireless (in 2019) or the Asus Strix Fusion 700 – RGB (in 2018). Today we’re checking the new Delta family member (introduced in 2018) - the Delta S Wireless headset, which was announced in June ’22.
