The Verdict

Alright, there's no friggin way that we can stress test this PSU 100% with high-end components. Quad Crossfire or Tripple-SLI still wouldn't be able to stress this PSU either. And be happy about that fact, the less Wattage your PSU consumes the better for all of us.

Why should you buy a 1200 Watt PSU then you ask ? Yes, a valid question. For me personally there are three reasons.

  • The first being thae fact that I like to have reserves. When I play a game I want a high-end graphics so that I'm sure it plays well. You can relate that ideology also to a PSU. I never want my PC to run out of current, it can cause system instability, crashes and God knows what not. Also by purchasing a PSU of this caliber you know for sure you'll have it for a long time, as you are not stressing it. The components in the PSU are not stressed, that ensures a longer life-time.
  • Now the second reason is is more simple, money. This PSU might be the cheapest KW+ PSU available at an amazing price. For the money of a good 800 Watt PSU you can purchase this PSU, it has a pricetag of roughly 245 EUR.
  • The third and final reason that should convince you is the high efficiency we noticed at what we thing should be near 85%. It's one of the few PSU's we tested that managed to get the power draw of this entire PC below 500 Watts (474 Watt to be precise). I have tested high-rated PSUs under the exact same conditions which have drawn 575 Watt. That's a 100 Watt difference on the same PC with the one difference being the PSU !

The HighPower also has some excellent safety features are built in, notice the sleeved black nylon wiring, modability and the sheer low-noise level. There's really not a negative that I can think of. Oh wait there's one .. the PSU is longer than your average PSU. It has the same length as the Enermax Galaxy. Most cases (chassis) out there will likely have no issue with it, yet be aware that it's pretty long.

guru3d-recommended_150px.jpgNow I know, it's a tad subjective to test PSU's in this class as really, we can hardly stress them. To do so we'd need a Chroma 8000, which is some really serious gear, yet completely unaffordable. We are however looking into purchasing a load unit, yet it's just such an expensive investment as it would cost a couple of thousand EUR.

For now we'll do our best by stressing the PSU in a real-world situation, taken to the extreme. And it passed our tests without the slightest hiccup, noise or protest. Pardon me the cliché, but it's "RockSolid" Stable.

The SirTec High Power 1200W Power Supply unit is an exceptional piece of machinery, surely 245 EUR is not exactly a small amount of money. But it surely is one of the wisest investments you can make for your PC. For great price, design and pure uber-power we give this unit a Guru3D recommended award.

Well done.
