The provided fan is the Scythe Kaze Flex 120 mm (Black PWM)). The colours scheme is not typical black-grey, but only in black. The fan has 11 blades, with anti-vibration pads provided on the mounting corners, and that’s a nice bonus. The basic specifications are listed below:

  • Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 27 mm (so 2 mm thicker than the usual size)
  • Fan Speed: 300 ~ 1500 RPM +/- 10 %
  • Fan airflow: 16.6 - 66.47 CFM / 28.2 - 112.93 m³h
  • Fan noise: 4 ~ 29,75 dBA
  • Control Mode: PWM
The fan is based on a sealed fluid dynamic bearing, so the longevity should be very high.

As for the radiator - it’s an aluminum one with many fins, so nothing that would surprise anyone.
Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition is 136 x 154.5 x 110.5 mm (w/ fan). The weight in total is 890 g, which is quite much for a single tower.

You can see the six heat pipes here. The diameter of each is 6 mm. The quality of the CPU base of the heatsink is sufficient, and it’s nickel-plated.

As you can see here – the cooler is not so deep (well, it’s a single tower, right?), so that should provide more memory clearance and better compatibility.

Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition looks very lovely with all black paint and accents. No-RGB lovers should find it a good match for their systems.
