The 6800/6900 series will not (yet) replace the Navi lineup, it's a different product category as AMD simply did not have an enthusiast-class performing product that matched NVIDIA's performance in the enthusiast spectrum. The Radeon RX 6800 XT has 4608 stream/Shader processors active, the 6800 3840 units. Corresponding connectors support DP1.4 with DSC and HDMI 2.1 VRR and FRL.

  • The reference 6800 cards have a game clock up-to 1815 MHz.
  • The reference 6800 XT cards have a game clock up-to 2015 MHz.
  • The reference 6900 XT cards have a game clock up-to 2015 MHz.
Given the right conditions and load, there is roughly 200 MHz more headroom per product on that boost frequency. This is listed at 2360 MHz for the product. A new stand-alone memory/VRM cooling module cools memory, mosfets, but also the chokes.
The card has Tripple BIOS mode, yes you read it correctly. This card has a BIOS switch that allows for three settings. Standard (as tested is the performance mode, Silent and a software switch mode. This can be used with TRIXX software to select default or silent mode in the software. We have not been able to notice a differential in performance, the default mode just seems to cool a notch better.

We know, it looks a little ominous, but the graphics card sits on a PCIe riser card in order to measure power consumption.
