Product Showcase

The Portable SSD with 2TB of capacity was packaged in a small, elegant-looking cardboard box with a beige design. The Samsung logo is in the top left corner of the box, and a picture of the SSD is displayed in the middle of the box.

The T7 Shield, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a USB-C to USB-A cable are all included in the box. We all know that USB-C is the present and future standard in computing, but Samsung recognizes that we are still in the process of transitioning from USB-A to USB-C.

A quick start guide is also supplied as part of the installation package. The external drive is compact, measuring 2.3" x 3.5" x.5" and weighs only 3.47 ounces (almost 100gram)  For reference, the T7 Shield is a little larger than a credit card. The drive, which is available in beige, black, or blue, has a rubber exterior that makes it simple to handle and helps cushion the impact if it falls.

The T7 Shield has an IP65 classification, which means it is resistant to water and dust. The SSDs rubber exterior provides drop protection as well as Dynamic Thermal Guard protection to assist regulate the heat produced by the drive when it's hard at work. This thermal protection extends the life of the drive and "controls heat to preserve consistent performance for even the largest projects."

The T7 Shield, according to Samsung, has read/write speeds of 1,050/1000MB/s when connected through USB-C. This corresponds to the potential to transfer a 5GB video in 8 seconds, a 3GB video in 4.4 seconds, and 1GB of photos in under 2 seconds.
