GPU Benchmarks

Game performance then. I'd take NVIDIA's Tegra 3 over the S3 Mali solution any day, but granted when we load up GLBenchmark we again see that OpenGL gaming performance is seriously fast and in this test actually at the same level as Tegra 3.

When we extend the test towards the GLBench Pro Standard test we see very similar behavior. Games wise keep in mind though that the Tegra 3 tablet uses a 1280x800 resolution where the S3 uses 1280x720, though most screen formats are somewhat similar in pixel size, resolutions per tablet can differ, less pixels to render increases the framerate.

With that said, benchmarking GPU performance is not at all an exact science on Android devices given our configuration options (well, the lack of them). but you'll agree that the Mali based Galaxy S III is performing well.

Memory and Storage Benchmarks

Below, the RAM and storage (primary Flash memory storage) performance of the product. Mind you that for RAM performance this again is a newly added benchmark, and we have very few tablets to compare to. Over time these results will build up.

So these results are here for added information.

The RAM performance on the S3 is just excellent.

And above, the storage performance in both read and write tests. Again, leading performance for the Galaxy S3.
