TechN Liquid Cooling

Introduction

More recently, I have introduced you to some basic information about what should be the waterblock for the Ryzen processor with the Zen 2 microarchitecture. Physically compatible with the AM4 socket, it does not mean that this sample will have optimal performance. The main reason for this is the CCD's offset from the center and the increased heat flux from the crystal area.  It seemed that the performance limits had already been reached and all the bikes had been invented, but the German company TechN was on the horizon and stated that their product was not only more productive than the competitors but also cheaper. I am usually skeptical about such statements and like to disprove it. In today's material, I approached the question of testing with maximum responsibility: 5 waterblocks, a MORA 420 radiator, and of course the Aquaero 6 with a bunch of premium sensors.  It will be fun, let's get started.

TechN

While TechN is new to the waterblock market, it has already developed waterblocks not only for Intel and AMD processors, but also for graphics cards (particularly the Nvidia RTX 2080Ti). Usually it is extremely difficult for new market players to compete with companies that have been on the market for 10 years. You may think that there are no chances, but not in this case.  When unpacking the boxes, the first thing that caught my eye was the accuracy with which the sample was made. There was no burr, no sharp chamfers, no scratches from the cutter, or even a mountain of unnecessary waste paper with a large, mottled box.

The waterblock has a unique industrial design, which emphasizes the smooth lines of matte rough aluminum. The color of the aluminum depends on the version of the waterblock you have chosen. At the moment, it is available in two versions: silver and black. In the center of the waterblock is a transparent acrylic camera window, through which you can see the 2 main advantages of our hero.   The first one is, of course, micro-channels, whose density is simply amazing.

The micro-channels are thinner than the office knife blade, and the IHS coverage area is 100%. Unfortunately, there are no exact figures for the depth and thickness of the micro-channels, as this is TechN's trump card.
