The Verdict

It is with great pleasure that we have reviewed BFG's latest graphics cards. As stated in the prologue, I'm happy we can now add them to our extensive list of manufacturers that we review products from. The BFG products tested are both very impressive. From what I can see, high-quality build PCB and components are being used, you receive pre-clocked products for roughly the same amount of money as the "regular" version and next to that you just can't beat that life-time warranty; which I think is just amazing. It also shows that BFG believes in their products, if you use cheap components to manufacture a product hey .. would you offer a life-time warranty ? Nope, mighty impressive indeed. For both products bundle wise everything is "okay", you'll receive everything to get started and connected, the driver CD, some extensive manuals but don't expect a luxurious software suite along with the products though. Nope, both products are pure about the hardware and nothing else. That translates itself into the price though as it can be offered cheaper to you, or the lack of software can be put into other things such as that warranty.

But let's break down the two products:

BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC
7900_GTX_3qtr.jpgThe GeForce series 7600 GT is affordable and offers serious bang for your hard earned bucks.

This mid-range GeForce 7600 GT offers you really good performance for not a lot of money. You'll be able to play all the games currently available if you stick at 10x7 or 12x10.

With slightly older games like Quake 4 you can de even more amazing stuff, you could use 4xAA and 8xAF modes and still get 37 frames per second with a 1920x1200 resolution. Quite stunning. And if you run out of performance ? Why not opt to go SLI and double up that rendering power again ?

The GeForce 7600 GT offers an exceptional amount of bang for your bucks. I like the fact that BFG made this card as an OC version. Sure the clocks are just slightly higher than reference, but every bit helps especially as you hardly have to pay extra for it.

You just have to like this product and it can be purchased already for 169 USD at the time of writing.

BFG GeForce series 7 review

BFG GeForce 7900 GT OC
When I wrote my first GeForce 7900 GT review I wrote this line: "Sweet momma daddy likes some sugar in his coffee and this card is the sugar!" and no, my opinion has not changed. I really like the GeForce 7900 GT cards and the BFG version is even clocked slightly faster.

This is a lower segment priced high-end graphics card that is performing extremely well for it's money. Suffice to say that at a sub 299 USD price level this is a very sweet product. I did a little browsing before I finished up this review and you can purchase it for 269 USD already which makes it a steal.

Play F.e.a.r and enable 4x AA and 16xAF, set your resolution at 1600x1200 and you'll still see a 40 FPS framerate on average. A year ago this wasn't even something we could think about. The BFG GeForce 7900 GT is a very strong performer and with the default higher clocks and that life-time warranty an absolutely fair price.

Oh and let us not forget that the entire Series 7 feature set can be found in both products of course, including the dandy PureVideo options.

With that being said I would like to conclude this article. Obviously I prefer BFG's GeForce 7900 GT OC over the 7600, but evidently it's also a good 100 bucks more expensive and that just does not fit's everybody's budget. Without a doubt the GeForce 7900 GT OC is my preferred card due to it's strong performance and that lovely price. Don't forget, with a series 7 card comes Dual-DVI connectivity, optional PureVideo and much more from a very reputable manufacturer.

No-matter what product you choose you'll purchase a good quality video card, and did I mention the lifetime warranty already? :) That lifetime warranty in conjunction with the factory standard OC makes me give the two products an editor's choice award because that's just fantastic value.
